RICERCHE DI STILE: a new exhibition from the Mazzini fashion archives, searching for the essence of style

From one of the most important archives of clothes and accessories, a new exhibition that showcases 150 masterpieces of best international fashion designers. "Ricerche di stile. Gli archivi Mazzini a Palazzo Tozzoni", in Imola (Italy) from 1st December 2017 to 28th February 2018.
There are people who, speaking about fashion, have the sparkling brillance of a lover in their eyes. One of them is Attilio Mazzini, founder of Archivio Mazzini, one of the most important fashion archives of the world, with a collection of nearly 400 thousands pieces among accessories and garments from the early 20th century to current day, visited by all the best fashion designers to find inspiration and new ideas.

For the exhibition the 150 creations, a small but representative part of the immense archive exposed among the beautiful 18th furnitures of the Tozzoni palace, are chosen not to sign an historical path on fashion evolution, but  to tell with passion the multifaceted and eclectic tale of creativity.

All together in the exhibition are exposed the artistic dresses of Elsa Schiapparelli and Mariano Fortuny, the ethnical inspirations of Romeo Gigli, the three-dimensional experimentations of Maurizio Galante and Roberto Capucci, the histrionic visions of Jean Paul Gaultier and John Galliano,  the cultured minimalism of Jil Sander and the destructured futurism of Martin Margiela.

The exhibition is organized by Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Imola and by Musei Civici-Assessorato alla Cultura in collaboration with Archivi Mazzini.
